It’s quite exciting news for the amazon customers that amazon is going to make the payment easier and safer. Soon, you will be able to pay by performing some actions in front of your phone camera such as smiling and blinking.
Amazon is a Seattle based company that’s been doing quite successfully in the world of e-commerce, or we can say it’s rocking it. And right now, amazon has filed a patent application for the new technology that we can see on amazon in upcoming months. This new technology will enable the customers to pay for the items they have purchased with the help of selfies rather than the passwords every now and then.
This app will be laced with the facial recognition technology so that it can make sure that it’s you who is making the purchase, not some robots or intruders. This technology will be employed in amazon for better safety.
The abstract of amazon’s patent application explains, “The process identifies the user and verifies that the user making the transaction is a living human being. The user will be identified by the image information that is processed by using the facial recognition technology.
With this, amazon added that the process will ask the customers to perform certain actions like smiling, tilting their heads, and blinking in order to identify the customer and proceed to the payments or the transactions.
We must say that it’s going to be a great revolution because typing passwords on short screen is quite a hard work and sometimes people access your device and make the payments without your concern. That’s always a bit risky. So the selfie criteria is going to be a big save when it comes to safety. Amazon has really done a great job.
Google also seems to be baking the same recipe as it is working on the technology to make the users pay safely with the facial images and the initials.
The images captured in this process will be instantly removed from the system in order to ensure security. Amazon will have filed the patent but it’s not sure when amazon is going to employ this technique. Still, it’s good to know that amazon has something like this in their heads.
